At Fuller Life Therapy Services, we prioritise a Person-Centred approach, dedicated to meeting the unique goals and needs of each participant following all relevant legislation, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013, its rules, and Australian Consumer Law. We tailor each participant's Support Plan to ensure compliance with NDIS guidelines while providing individualised interventions. If we find that we are not the best fit for a participant's needs, we will discuss this with them and help them connect with more appropriate services.
We aim to meet the needs of participants and their families as much as possible, considering factors such as appointment scheduling and locations, respecting family values and cultures, and integrating family goals alongside those of the participant.
Participants are entitled to involve a trusted or appointed decision-maker or advocate, such as a family member, in their care. We encourage collaboration with these individuals to achieve the participant's goals. Support Plans are regularly reviewed, and decision-makers or advocates are encouraged to participate in these reviews.
Clear and effective communication is vital to the relationship between Fuller Life Therapy Services and our participants. We adapt our communication methods to suit each participant’s needs, which may include using assistive technology, simplified language, or interpreters. Understanding and responding to the participant’s needs and aspirations enables us to provide personalised, person-centred support and services.
We use the Occupational Performance Model to guide our assessment, intervention, and evaluation processes. This model considers the cultural, physical, sensory, and social environments in which participants engage in various occupational roles, offering a comprehensive framework for addressing their human and legal rights while aligning their roles with their goals.
Fuller Life Therapy Services follows the guidelines set by AHPRA and the Occupational Therapy Australia Board, which outline competency standards in professionalism, knowledge and learning, occupational therapy processes and practice, and communication.
Sometimes, taking certain risks is necessary to help participants develop the skills they need to achieve their goals. For example, transitioning from one mobility aid to another may involve a risk of falls as new skills are acquired. These potential risks are discussed with the participant and their trusted or appointed decision-maker throughout the planning period. While we respect the participant’s choices, the safety of both the participant and our team is essential. If risks are too high, we will work with you to adjust the service plan accordingly.
Fuller Life Therapy Services is committed to continuous improvement and values feedback from our participants. This feedback informs our quality improvement activities and strategic planning. We maintain a feedback and complaints register, communicate regularly with our staff, conduct ongoing training and education, and audit our policies and procedures to ensure they meet our high standards.
Our team works collaboratively, both in-house and with external providers, to deliver personalised supports that empower individuals to enhance their skills and sense of self while aligning with their NDIS goals. We ensure that clients and their families are actively involved in the planning and decision-making processes, supporting choice and control, and a strong commitment to therapy goals.
Our dedication to excellence and client satisfaction is at the core of everything we do. We strive to provide the highest quality of care, resulting in meaningful and lasting outcomes for our clients and their families. This commitment translates into investing in our team through continued professional development and training, team building, and fostering connections. By managing diversified caseloads and minimising burnout through well-being support, we maintain a high-quality service for the families we serve.
